Russ has sponsored a half-dozen senior projects at Cal Poly in Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, and Statistics.  A number of the projects have involved observations made by students at the Orion Observatory.  Research results of several of the students have been published, and several students presented their results at scientific meetings.
